President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the pace of development in Ogun State, describing ongoing projects as a clear reflection of purposeful leadership and a model for national progress.

The President made this known following his visit to Iperu in Ogun State, where he inspected key infrastructure projects, including the newly developed Gateway Cargo Airport.

The event also had in attendance former President Olusegun Obasanjo, whose presence underscored the significance of the occasion and the importance of the projects to both the state and the nation.

According to Tinubu, the developments represent the kind of intentional and sustainable progress Nigeria must prioritize. He noted that what he witnessed in the state reinforces the importance of aligning vision with discipline to achieve lasting impact.

The Gateway Cargo Airport, in particular, was highlighted as a major milestone. Tinubu described it as proof that strategic investment in infrastructure can unlock economic opportunities and improve the lives of citizens.

He emphasized that government investments must remain people-focused, stressing that the ultimate goal of development is to secure long-term prosperity for Nigerians.

The President also acknowledged the efforts of Dapo Abiodun, praising his administration for maintaining focus and consistency in delivering impactful projects. He noted that true development is not driven by rhetoric but by decisions that bring measurable improvements to people’s lives.

During the visit, several initiatives were unveiled, including aircraft operations linked to the airport, electric bikes, agricultural tractors, and enhanced security assets. Tinubu described these developments as practical steps that demonstrate real progress across multiple sectors.

He reiterated that development must be inclusive and felt at all levels of society, expressing satisfaction that Ogun State is aligning with this principle.

Tinubu further linked the state’s achievements to his administration’s Renewed Hope agenda, explaining that ongoing reforms are designed to empower sub-national governments with more resources and autonomy to drive development.

According to him, these reforms are already yielding results, as states like Ogun are leveraging the opportunity to deliver meaningful projects.

The President assured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to sustaining the momentum, noting that the focus will continue to be on building a prosperous and inclusive nation.

Reaffirming his message, Tinubu stated that the work of nation-building is ongoing, urging continued dedication to development efforts across all levels of government.

His visit to Ogun State comes at a time when stakeholders are closely monitoring the impact of federal reforms on state-level development, with Ogun emerging as one of the states demonstrating visible progress.
