The All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and stakeholders from the North-Central geopolitical zone have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang led a delegation of political leaders and party stakeholders from his state to the endorsement gathering held at Lafia Square in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday.
The event attracted APC leaders, elected officials and party supporters from the six states in the North-Central zone and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Mutfwang’s participation was disclosed in a statement issued in Jos on Saturday by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere.
According to the statement, the governor joined the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; governors from the region; and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction at the gathering.
Speaking at the event, Mutfwang declared his support for Tinubu’s re-election bid on behalf of APC stakeholders from Plateau State.
The governor expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, saying the continued implementation of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda would strengthen the country’s economic prospects and accelerate development.
He commended the President’s economic reforms, noting that their consistent implementation could boost economic growth, transform agriculture, improve infrastructure, create jobs and enhance national prosperity.
Mutfwang also argued that a second term would give the administration an opportunity to consolidate its ongoing reforms, deepen development across key sectors and build a more resilient and inclusive economy.
While acknowledging the economic pressures and security challenges facing the country, the governor urged Nigerians to support efforts to stabilise the economy, strengthen national security and expand opportunities for citizens.
He stressed that national development required purposeful leadership, collective responsibility and sustained cooperation among stakeholders.
The governor described the gathering of APC leaders and supporters from across the North-Central zone as a demonstration of political unity and a shared commitment to Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria.
According to him, the endorsement reflected confidence in the President’s leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda, while highlighting the region’s support for continuity in governance and sustainable development.
Members of the Plateau State delegation included Deputy Governor Ngo Josephine Piyo; the state’s First Lady, Helen Mutfwang; Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Naanlong Daniel; and the governor’s Chief of Staff, Jeremiah Satmak.
Others were former Plateau State Governor and Senator, Joshua Chibi Dariye; former Deputy Governor Pauline Tallen; and the governor’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Istifanus Mwansat.
The statement added that APC candidates for the 2027 elections, political leaders, party stakeholders, support groups and other party faithful from Plateau State also attended the event.
