Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has earned a spot in the Women’s Super League Team of the Week for Gameweek 19, selected by Sky Sports pundit Izzy Christiansen, following an impressive performance for Brighton & Hove Albion Women.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper delivered a standout display in Brighton’s narrow 1-0 victory over Leicester City Women at the King Power Stadium on Sunday. Her performance secured her sixth clean sheet of the season and reinforced her growing reputation as one of the league’s most dependable goalkeepers.

Nnadozie showed sharp awareness throughout the match, rushing off her line early to deny Shannon O’Brien in a one-on-one situation. She also produced a calm and decisive intervention late in the game, dealing effectively with a dangerous corner to protect Brighton’s slim lead.

Her inclusion in the Team of the Week places her among top performers across the league. The defensive lineup features Alex Greenwood and Rebecca Knaak of Manchester City Women, alongside Lynn Wilms of Aston Villa Women.

In midfield, the team includes Lauren Hemp, Sjoeke Nusken of Chelsea Women, Signe Gaupset of Tottenham Hotspur Women, and Ceri Holland of Liverpool Women.

The attacking trio features Kirsty Hanson, Alessia Russo of Arsenal Women, and Lauren James of Chelsea, while Andrée Jeglertz of Manchester City earns the nod as coach.

Newspadi reports that Nnadozie’s selection highlights her consistency this season. She currently boasts the highest save percentage in the league at 75.7 per cent, ranks among the top goalkeepers in saves per 90 minutes, and leads in goals prevented. Her six clean sheets place her among the top performers, just behind Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton.

Off the pitch, the Nigerian international has also voiced concern over the postponement of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The tournament, initially scheduled for March, has now been moved to July.

“We were not happy about the postponement because we had already started preparing seriously,” she said, reflecting the mood within the team.

With her current form, Nnadozie continues to strengthen her position as one of Nigeria’s top football exports and a key figure for both club and country.
