Nigeria’s Bethel Damian Chidera Mbamara has made history by finishing as first runner-up at Mister Global 2026, securing the country’s best-ever placement at the international men’s pageant.
Mbamara achieved the milestone at the grand finale held in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday, after competing against contestants from different countries.
The Nigerian representative impressed the judges throughout the competition, progressing through several stages to emerge among the top contenders for the title.
He first secured a place in the Top 20 following the swimwear presentation before advancing to the Top 10 after the formal wear and speech segments.
Mbamara subsequently made it into the Top 5 and eventually the Top 3, earning the first runner-up position at the conclusion of the contest.
Türkiye’s Dilhan Divrikli won the Mister Global 2026 title, while the Philippines’ Myron Jude “MJ” Ordillano finished as second runner-up.
Mbamara’s achievement marks Nigeria’s highest placement since the country began participating in the Mister Global pageant.
Before his latest success, Mbamara represented Nigeria at Mister International 2025, where he finished as third runner-up and earned the title of Mister International Africa.
He later received the appointment of Mister Global Nigeria 2026, paving the way for his participation in the competition in Thailand.
His latest accomplishment adds to Nigeria’s growing presence in international men’s pageants, following his previous podium finish at Mister International.
