Former Nollywood actress and beauty queen, Regina Askia-Williams, has officially opened Regina Medical Services, her medical and aesthetics practice in Englewood, New Jersey, United States.
Askia marked the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, October 3, at the facility located at 185 Engle Street, Suite 2B. The Bergen County Chamber of Commerce also participated in the ceremony.
The former beauty queen shared photographs from the event on Sunday and expressed appreciation to those who attended.
“Early ribbon-cutting photos! Even though more patients than party people showed up, these beautiful people made it worthwhile!” she wrote.
Among those who attended the ceremony was actress and filmmaker Mercy Macjoe, who congratulated Askia on the new venture in an Instagram post.
Macjoe wrote, “Yesterday, I showed up to celebrate and support our legend, big sis @reginaaskia, at the grand opening of her medical center, REGINA MEDICAL SERVICES!”
She added, “Congratulations, sis! So proud to witness this beautiful new chapter. Wishing you greater success, impact, and many more wins.”
Macjoe also urged residents of the New Jersey community to support Askia’s new venture.
Regina Medical Services offers medical and aesthetics services, with treatments covering healthcare, wellness and cosmetic care.
The practice had already begun attending to patients before the October 3 ribbon-cutting ceremony.
In September, Askia announced the birth of what she described as the “very first Regina Medical Services baby.” She had also earlier promoted an eight-week transformation programme offering medical weight loss, body contouring, radiofrequency skin tightening and lymphatic drainage.
Askia has combined her public profile as a former beauty queen and Nollywood actress with a career in healthcare in the United States.
She trained as a nurse practitioner in the US and has worked in the healthcare sector for several years.
Her healthcare career has previously attracted attention, including her qualification as a family nurse practitioner in the United States and her subsequent work in the profession.
