The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, on Saturday visited victims of the recent Angwan Rukuba attack who are currently receiving treatment at the Jos University Teaching Hospital.
Reports gathered by Newspadi confirms, the visit, which took place earlier in the day, saw the APC chairman accompanied by his wife, Dr. Martina Yilwatda, as they met with survivors and medical personnel attending to those injured in the tragic incident.

Speaking during the visit, Yilwatda expressed deep sympathy for the victims and their families, describing the attack as “painful, barbaric, and unacceptable.” He stressed that such acts of violence represent a direct assault on the nation’s shared humanity and must not be allowed to become a recurring reality.
According to him, the APC leadership stands in full solidarity with the victims, noting that the visit was aimed at showing compassion while reinforcing the collective duty of government and citizens to safeguard lives across the country.

The APC chairman also used the opportunity to reassure Nigerians of the Federal Government’s commitment to ending insecurity. He emphasized that under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, decisive steps are being taken to protect lives and bring those responsible for such attacks to justice.
He extended his condolences to families who lost loved ones in the Angwan Rukuba violence, offering prayers for strength and comfort as they navigate the painful aftermath of the tragedy.
Yilwatda further commended the management and staff of the hospital for their swift response and professionalism in handling the emergency, acknowledging their role in saving lives during the crisis.
The APC chairman called on leaders at all levels, community stakeholders, and citizens to rise to the challenge by working together with urgency and unity to prevent future occurrences.
He warned that the incident must serve as a wake-up call for collective action, stressing that Plateau State and indeed the entire nation cannot afford a continuation of such bloodshed.
The Angwan Rukuba attack has sparked renewed concerns about security in Plateau State, with many Nigerians calling for stronger measures to curb violence and ensure the safety of communities.
