Army commences Operation Python Dance III in Abia State

With the flagging off of Exercise EGWU EKE 3 (Operation PYTHON DANCE 3) in Ebonyi State on Sunday 6 January 2019 by the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Engr David Umahi and the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigeria Army, Maj Gen A.S Maikobi, the stage was set for the commencement of the Exercise across 82 Division Area of Responsibility.

In compliance with this, Sector 2 of Exercise EGWU EKE (14 Brigade NA) commenced the Exercise proper at the Sector 2 Step Up HQ located at the Nsulu Games Village in Isialangwa North LGA of Abia State on Monday 7 Jan 2019. It started with an operation orders delivered by the Commander Sector Brigadier General A.K Ibrahim to his Commanding officers and other security agencies present.

There after, the Sector Command addressed troops and other security agents drawn from the Nigerian Police, Department of State services, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigerian Prison Services and the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency among others.



The Sector Commander informed the participants that Exercise EGWU EKE 3 is a security operation aimed at enhancing security within the geopolitical Zone and said similar Ex is being carried out all over the country simultaneously. He called on the participants to be professional, to always remember their rules of engagement and to respect human rights in the course of the Exercise.

The Commander said the Exercise would continue till the 2019 general elections and that the participants will be strictly neutral while Carrying out their tasks.

He urged the participants to cooperate very well with each other and go after the criminals or those with anti social behavior.

He then held a meeting with the leaders of the security agents present to Kickstart the Exercise.

It ended on a hitch free note.

Respected members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or persons to the nearest security agents.
