A group of Nigerian Youths made up of four, including a female has built an app that works online and offline to help voters in Nigeria locate their polling unit
The app, according to the team leader, Oladukon Oluwaseun is built for easy up the hurdles of voters locating their polling unit on an election day.
It works online and offline by dialling a USSD Code with your phone (Internet or no internet).
Speaking exclusively to ABACITYBLOG in #Startupsouth4 held in Owerri, Oluwaseun said a lot about the Voter’s Desk. He lamented the process where voters may queue up to vote while reaching his/her, but to find out that the place is not their polling unit.
“We built the Voter’s Desk, although, the USSD code number to dial is not out, but we are working on it and will soon be made public.
“The app will help voters in a huge way, even those in rural areas will have access to it by dialling a USSD code even without internet connection, he said.
Meanwhile, the group won the #HackVote, a competition for the likeminds, they won the competition after a vote by the audience.
