The Federal Government has declared Tuesday 20th of November, public holiday to mark Muslims Eid-el Maulud.
This declaration was made by the Minister of interior Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd) in a statement through the permanent secretary Dr. Mohammed Umar.
Dambazau called on Muslim faithful to align themselves with the Prophet’s teachings which border on piety, charity, tolerance and peaceful co-existence, among others.
He also called on Nigerians to also uphold peace and and charity in view of overcoming the current challenges facing the country.
He also assured that the federal government is committed to the unity of the country and is working to ensure a free and fair election in 2019.
